Spark Pediatrics is Florida’s largest provider of prescribed pediatric extended care (PPEC). Our highly skilled and rigorously screened staff members provide medical daycare and pediatric physical, occupational, and speech therapies for children facing complex medical challenges. Miami-Dade PPEC care teams are guided by a medical director and a director of nursing and include registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and certified nursing assistants (CNAs). All therapists who provide physical, speech, and occupational therapies are certified and have extensive pediatric experience.

Antonio Rodriguez, MD, Medical Director

Antonio Rodriguez, MD, Medical Director

Dr. Rodriguez is a native of Cuba. He received his medical training in the Dominican Republic, where he graduated first in his class. Dr. Rodriguez practiced medicine in Puerto Rico until 1983, when he joined Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, where he currently serves as Associate Director of Pediatric Pulmonology. His certifications include Diplomate in Pediatric Pulmonology and Diplomate, American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Rodriguez provides quality medical oversight to the Spark Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center in Miami. He has a particular interest in the care of medically complex children and adolescents. His practice, Pediatric Pulmonology of South Florida, is located on the campus of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami.
